Viva la vida (Prospekt's March edition)
A través de la página oficial, Coldplay anuncia la salida de su disco EP: Prospekt's March y la unión del Viva la vida or death and all his friends con el EP en una edición especial titulada: VIVA LA VIDA (PROSPEK'TS MARCH EDITION). Éste contiene todo lo nuevo que han elaborado desde la salida del cuarto disco de estudio -dándole anuncio especial a la versión de Lost con Jay-Z y la versión remix de Lovers in Japan-.
La portada esta vez luce sin pinturas de Delacroix como fondo.

Es indudable que ahora sí Coldplay ha vuelto al cien por ciento ya que los temas como Prospekt's March/Poppyfields y Now my feet won't touch the ground devuelven a la banda el lado soft que el primer disco necesitaba para seguir siendo esa esencia que desde el Parachutes los acompaña.

Para el 25 se alista el EP o minidisco de Coldplay que contendrá los B-sides y descartes en la grabación y gira del Viva la vida or death and all his friends.

Lost! (Video oficial)
Los conciertos vuelven a dar frutos ya que la banda acepta que desde su anterior disco se enfocan más en darle calidad a sus conciertos y es muy notable, como pude comprobarlo en Holanda y Live at the BBC.

Viva la vida (Segunda versión)
Retornas por el mar, rey Chris Martin, como el Yelow que extrañas hacer. Y en el acantilado esperas volver Coldplay.
Me quedo con esta versión del video clip de Viva la vida, claro que no es nada original ya que ellos mismos mencionaron al video clip Enjoy the silencie del grupo -ahora disuelto- Depeche mode, esta vez la silla se traduce a la pintura que hace gala a la portada del disco.

No sé cómo catalogar hasta ahora el contenido del video, sólo tengo la sensación que si esa es la verdadera imagen que desea mostrar Coldplay: que sigan adelante.

Nueva canción de Coldplay: "Violet Hill" (descargable)
12:15 pm (Londres) : Coldplay saca a la luz la primera canción Violet Hill de su nuevo material: "Viva la vida or death and all his friends" y a ello se suma la descarga gratuita que podremos hacer durante una semana en la página principal de la banda /Coldplay.com/ Recordemos que Radiohead hace poco hizo acción parecida al dejar a sus seguidores descargar el In rainbows como manera de protesta a EMI que se impone ante el arte musical.
La página oficial como es de verse, ha obtenido una nueva forma. A través del link artwork se puede divisar algo de la nueva portada:
Usando el óleo La Libertad guiando al pueblo de Eugène Delacroix (1830) -que personalmente recordaba por la Revolucón francesa, sin embargo se halla 41 años después- puedo opinar que escuchando la canción, han exagerado al poner tal pintura como portada o tal vez más de una sorpresa contenga este álbum. Otro grupo de rock que ha usado imagen similar son los japoneses de Dragon Ash en su disco "Viva la revolución".
En la sección song se puede descargar la canción que NME Magazine de Inglaterra regalará en vinilo 7 el día 7 de Mayo con el single Violet Hill y A spell a rebel yell (la canción que acompañará al single completo), que sólo saldrá por ese medio. -A pensar- (...)

Viva la vida or death all his friends, salió a la luz el título del que sucederá al exitoso X & Y el 19 de marzo por la página oficial de Coldplay, se estima que su salida estará para el 16 de junio y aproximadamente el primer single recorrar esas fechas.

Viva la vida es una obra de la mexicana pintora Frida Kahlo, de donde podemos ya imaginar la tonalidad bicolor que le han dado a este cuarto material.
Este álbum ha sido producido por Brian Eno, donde se les ha visto al cuarteto dando vueltas musicales por Barcelona.

El primer video clip de Coldplay
Ya con el nuevo estilo de su página oficial, ofrecen el enigmático Bigger Stronger -pues esta canción es muy buena por ser sustituida por Spies-. Jóvenes bajo el agua, "drive a faster car", dándole superlativos de existencia adolescente, directo y tenaz.
